Relyon Decadence Mattress Review

Most people who are reading this Relyon Decadence Mattress Review would have at some point owned a Relyon mattress or indeed a pillow top in the past or something of lesser quality. Either way, you may be looking to upgrade to the Relyon Decadence Mattress or looking for something of the same quality for better value.

The Relyon Decadence Mattress has a medium to firm comfort rating so if you do suffer from back issues or pain, you may want something a little firmer to give you a better nights sleep.

While a lot of the choice comes down to personal preference, a bed that is too soft or too hard can cause back problems over a period of time.

The Relyon Decadence Mattress is made with Belgian Damask which is a woven fabric that features on the majority of mattresses. Generally, this woven fabric is referred to as  ‘Belgian Damask’, although many of the damask fabrics have never been through Europe, never mind Belgium.

The Relyon Decadence Mattress has a pillow top which sits above the 1750 pocketed springs that are designed to contour to your individual body shape for comfort and support.

The reason that the Relyon Decadence Mattress is at the higher end of the middle range of Relyon mattresses is because it comes with luxurious deep fillings including soft white fibre, silk, lambs wool and cotton.

Relyon prides itself on the quality and excellence of their divan beds and mattresses. They invest time and craftsmanship in every bed and every one a tribute to Relyon’s famously high standards.

The Relyon Decadence Mattress features 2 Rows of Hand Side Stitching. This is traditional hand-side stitching which secures the outer springs to the border at the top and bottom preventing roll-out and is the most highly skilled and labour intensive of all the operations.

Side-stitching is carried out by senior upholsterers using traditional long needles and twine to make borders and edges stronger.

The Relyon Decadence is a truly luxurious mattress and such decadent luxury does come at a price, just under £1000. However it is worth noting that there are alternative pillow tops available on the market with very similar features.

What are the alternatives to the Relyon Decadence Mattress?

The Relyon Decadence Mattress has an alternative, which is also a Relyon brand mattress, the Relyon Pillow Top Dream Mattress. Relyon Pillow Top Dream Mattress

LIke the Relyon Decadence Mattress, the Pillow Top Dream is obviously a pillowtop mattress with a soft sumptuous surface. It is also has a medium-firm rating which is delivered by 1800 Pocketed Springs are inserted into hard wearing pockets.

The Relyon pocket spring system is the best at providing individual support to the sleeper. The upper layer of springs shape to the body contours while the lower layer’s absorbs changes in weight distribution for the ultimate in comfort and support. As a rule of thumb the higher the number of individual springs, the more support will be provided to the sleeper.

Unlike the Relyon Decadence Mattress, the Relyon Pillow Top Dream Mattress has an Anti-Allergy Layer – A layer of anti-allergenic fibre underneath the mattress fabric cover. This layer is sterilised and dust free, therefore ideal for allergy sufferers.

Additionally the Relyon Pillow Top Dream Mattress features Silver+ Protection which is an anti-bacterial protection.Silver+ combats and dramatically reduces microbial growth providing a fresh and hygienic fabric.

As well as having slightly more springs than the Relyon Decadence Mattress, the Pillow Top Dream also features Four Rows of traditional Hand Side Stitching compared to just two. The effects on the mattress are quite dramatic preventing the springs from distorting and extending the sleeping area right up to the edge of the bed to make the borders and edges stronger.
